The capital region Berlin-Brandenburg

The capital region is at the center of the European economic zone and is therefore the gateway between East and West. With 174 museums, 150 theaters, eight symphonic orchestras, three opera houses and 265 cinemas, Berlin offers a lively and progressive cultural climate. In the immediate vicinity, 500 palaces and parks invite discovery in Brandenburg. The most famous of these is Potsdam, the capital of the German state of Brandenburg and world cultural heritage site, with its world-famous palace Sanssouci.
