The Berlin-Brandenburg region offers outstanding development potential and ideal conditions for the biotech industry. In a scientific environment that is unique in Europe, research and development is taking place at five universities, three universities of applied sciences and in more than 20 research institutes with a total of 350 work groups. More than half of the over 190 biotech companies are spin-offs of the universities and research institutes. Equipped with six biotechnology parks and a well-developed expertise in the focus areas proteomics and genomics, drug discovery and development, molecular diagnostics, regenerative medicine and industrial biotechnology the Berlin-Brandenburg region has established itself as a top industry location in Europe.
Our Objectives
BioTOP Berlin Brandenburg is the central contact and coordination office for all issues concerning biotechnology in the German capital region. Our special profile as a network node supports you with all questions you may have- quickly and outcome-oriented.
It is our objective to coordinate all regional activities in biotechnology by networking with all key players and to initiate specific projects in order to turn Berlin-Brandenburg into a globally leading competence center for biotechnology.

BioTOP is funded by the State of Berlin and the State of Brandenburg. Legal obligations toward third parties are the responsibility of the TSB Innovationsagentur Berlin GmbH.
